Paul Smith gives the young ones a space in Paris
Britain’s foremost designer, Paul Smith has long designed for children; catering to all ages from newborns to teens with his junior collections of shoes and clothing. The new and first ever standalone Paul Smith Junior shop is immediately adjacent to the existing Boulevard Raspail shop which offers a perfectly curated selection of clothing, shoes and accessories for men and women.
True to the Paul Smith ethos of placing importance on individuality and effort, attention has been paid to every detail of the shop; from the Hornby train set that circles the window to the hand-painted budgie that hovers behind the cash desk.
Measuring just 19 square meters, the shop is small but perfectly formed and is the ideal home for the Paul Smith Baby, Junior and PSJR pieces; which, like their grown-up counterparts, are packed with vibrant colours and vivid prints.
Echoing the distinguished and elegant aesthetic of Paul Smith shops around the world, the design sees traditional architectural elements such as wood panelling and intricate cornicing contrast with contemporary furnishings such as European Oak cabinets and eye-catching mid-century modern brushed brass hanging rails.
Honouring the visual tone of Paul Smith shops worldwide, contemporary art and illustrations hang on the walls, and photos taken by Paul himself can be found.
