Stylised adidas NMD

Why should running shoes look like running shoes?

Someone made a comment the other day, saying how she couldn’t see herself matching running shoes with dresses and that they don’t go together but I beg to differ: running shoes are now part of my lifestyle, and they’re comfy to boot, especially when I’m constantly on the move from one meeting to another, hobbling into the heart of Singapore and walking home. It makes me, me.

So when adidas shared their new NMD shoes, it doesn’t just reflect as something practical, I see it as part of my wardrobe, mixing and matching my style. That’s the fun in fashion, you see.

A technical runner realised as a lifestyle sneaker, the NMD is born from an audacious combination of shapes, angles, and materials on an iconic color-blocked foundation. Designed without compromise, a modern upper construction, an exaggerated silhouette, and bold archival details comprise the dynamic concept. The NMD’s midsole is elevated with adidas BOOST technology, in which blown EVA pellets are compressed to create a durable, shock-resistant, responsive sole. Its upper, meanwhile, utilizes the integrity of adidas Primeknit, boasting new levels of flexibility, stability, and strength.

“adidas is a pioneering brand—that is the principle we were built on,” says Nic Galway, adidas Originals VP of Global Design. “Our archive features the best technology of its time and continues to empower us. It’s not a museum. It’s a tool. It’s a reference.” NMD – the past empowers the future.

NMD will be available at adidas Originals Concept stores in Pavilion, KLCC, Sunway Pyramid, Crossover Midvalley and SoleWhat Midvalley as well as online at and is retailing at RM720.
